Caterpillar CS-563 z 1994 in the ring-bound version (referred to in the manufacturer’s official nomenclature as CP-563, where the letter „P” stands for padfoot, i.e. a drum with pegs) is A legendary, exceptionally durable machine. It is used for deep compaction of cohesive soils (clay, loam, mixed soil). The 1994 models belong to the first, highly regarded generation of this series (prior to the introduction of electronic systems and Common Rail engines), which makes them straightforward to repair and mechanically simple in design.

  • CAT 3116 T engine: One of the most successful engines of that era. It is a fully mechanical engine (with no complex ECU computer control units), highly resistant to lower-quality fuel and easy to service by any construction machinery mechanic.

  • Hydrostatic drive: The roller has independent drive to the rear wheels and the drum, ensuring excellent traction on steep inclines and in deep, boggy mud.

  • Padfoot drum (with lugs): 140 tines arranged in a herringbone (chevron) pattern effectively „work” the soil from the bottom upwards. The pins have a specially profiled front surface, which prevents plastic clay from sticking to the drum (this is also aided by the fitted scrapers).

  • Cab/ROPS design: In the 1994 model year, an open platform with a ROPS safety frame was standard, although versions with an aftermarket, fully enclosed cab can be found on the second-hand market.
